[DeTomaso] Mech vs electric oil pressure gauges

The difference in response time is not an issue unless you're literally staring at the gauge waiting for it to change. For that you use an "idiot light". I personally wouldn't want a pressurized oil line inside my cabin considering how often I rattle things around underneath the dash for various reasons. Reliability? Have you compared mechanical tire pressure gauges as found at gas stations? Let's just say that I carry my own gauge and use the station gauge as a rough guide. The prices you quote are the opposite to what I'd have expected. I'd have thought that an electrical and a mechanical instrument of similar accuracy and reliability would have cost me significantly more for the mechanical than the electric.

I'd guess the response time is quicker for the electric, but in seconds or in milli seconds? I'd guess the mechanical is more reliable.
