The bolt is also reduced in diameter in the center.  The short botls in
the Ford Motorsport head bolt kit for aluminum high port heads were
the same length as the OEM 351C bolts but had hardened washers
instead of the flange and were constant diameter.  The long bolts
were the same but longer.
