[DeTomaso] curise control vacuum cannister question

I just received the vacuum cannister for my Audiovox cruise control, but it came with no directions.  There are simply two nipples to which to hook the vacuum hose, one marked "MAN" the other marked "AMP" 

I'm assuming the "MAN" means that's the one to which I attach the hose coming from the manifold.  Maybe "AMP" means amplified, as in more vacuum which goes to the cruise control unit.

Can anyone confirm this?
