[DeTomaso] High Volume Oil Pump?

You only need a high volume pump when your bearing clearances are opened up. If you install a high volume pump with stock clearances all you are doing is forcing it to run against the pressure relief. This puts unwanted stress on the oil pump drive and the roll pin holding the distributer gear. It can also tend to heat up the oil as it is relieving and uses up a shetland pony's worth of power. I would recommend stay with the stock pump.
