# 3463 > 1972 Pre L with the stock exhaust and resonator tips (with a chrome over tip)
Has anyone gutted their stock exhaust? I have seen the posts on Space City Pantera Club (Houston) and Pantera International on this procedure. Both reference GTS exhaust. The Space City post runs a "V" diverter at the exit to the tips while the PI post shows a "V" pipe welded in to each side of the tip. I like the "V" pipe better because it will not have an "oil can" affect as it directs gasses out the tips.
Although, having the stock exhaust what can I expect? Should I also remove the resonators in the tips and "sleeve" the chrome tips instead? I want the car to sound LOUD and like a very powerful Italian sports car. Not Bubba's redneck pick-up with straight pipes.
Any ideas, thoughts, comments, or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks, Dave
