[DeTomaso] Solid Camshaft lash?

Don't think so, although I could be wrong.

I went to go look at my cam card to be sure. It just calls out the lash -
0.022" and doesn't say hot or cold.

Going to the Compcam webpage, in the cam installation instructions it says:
Mechanical (Solid) Flat Tappet and Solid Roller Camshafts: Follow the same
adjustment
procedure. Instead of lifter pre-load, use the prescribed valve lash
clearance found on the cam
specification card. If you have misplaced your cam spec card call COMP CamsR
CAM HELPR line
at 1-800-999-0853 for the proper

Since this is with the engine cold, I am assuming that the lash called out
is cold.

Does your card specify hot/cold lash?

You mean Hot. I have a Comp Cams 294S and it's 0.022 hot. For a cold motor
you need to subtract for the heat expansion, Iron heads maybe 0.002- 0.004,
Aluminum heads 0.005-0.007. I set mine a 0.016 cold and they were right on
0.022 hot, Comp says you can run thier cams up to 0.002 tight and not more
than 0.003 loose. YMMV, Mark
