I understand RV users have been adding a system to their rigs and towed vehicles that monitor air pressure. It is wireless and actually alerted the RV driver when parked in front of their home that the "pull behind" vehicle had low tire pressure, and the car happened to be parked in the garage. I will try to get and post details.

There is such a system available,,,,I've talked to several Pantera guys including Jason Eaton who ran his yellow Pantera with the system in two ORR's the last being the NORC in May. Its not going to help a catastrophic blow out scenerio but 99% of the other problems of hitting nails, bolts or other debris it will provide 'early-warning' to assuming the tire can hold air........Jason-others are you there?

As a matter of fact, I experienced (as a passenger) a blowout today in Stephane's Renault. It has one of those newfangled tire pressure warning systems, and shortly after passing a construction zone, it warned of low pressure, then warned of dangerously low pressure, then we pulled into his driveway and the tire went flat.

It's too bad it's not practical to fit such a system to older cars--there was no other indication of anything amiss, and had we been on the road the tire would have been destroyed before we knew anything was wrong.
