The California legislature has been in the news recently for battling the
EPA for the right to regulate greenhouse gas emissions.  The legislature
believes the feds are moving too slow to raise the average mileage and want
to set the mileage standards themselves. 

So what do the legislators drive?  The head of the California Senate, Don
Perata, drives a taxpayer-funded, 2006 Dodge Charger with 22" rims which
gets 15 MPG.  That is, until today when the unarmed gun control advocate
stopped at a red light in Oakland ...

Sally Lieber, who knocked down the 30 year rolling emissions policy drives a
Mercury Marauder which also get 15 MPG.
