[DeTomaso] Engine/distributor questions

Ah, the very bottom of the driveshaft then, how odd.   Somehow I always 
thought the issue was the size of the mounting hole on the top of the block.

So what is the solution when buying an aftermarket distributor?   Custom 
driveshaft?   Or change the oil pump to a conventional style?   (Isn't the issue 
then that the bottom of the shaft enters the oil pump, which is a non-standard 
size?).   

I'm getting further confused. :>)
