I recall pressing nervously on the horn button on the CENTER OF THE STEERING WHEEL on my first drive as a Pantera owner in 1975 to get the attention of another driver who appeared to be unaware of my presence. They really should tell you before you drive away in a car new to you.

Pressing on the stalk sure doesn't seem natural, has anyone wired a horn button on the steering wheel?

The new owner accident syndrome is an observation I was recently thinking
about as well. Perhaps, it is reasonable to expand that to include seasoned
owners who have just added an engine upgrade. The enthusiasm and desire to
enjoy the new capabilities seem to put us in the danger zone with unintended
consequences.
