I am having a motor built by one of the most highly regarded Ford builders
in our area who didn't think much of the use of the Nylocs in the pan.  This
is a guy who has been building exclusively Ford performance engines for many
years.  He said that in most cases, it probably wouldn't be an issue, but
one good hot track session, or a day that your cooling system lets you down,
and they could soften enough to either come loose or melt into the oil and
spread the melted nylon through the oiling system.  Now, that said, and in
retrospect to numerous chop-bustings I've gotten from the forum, I may have
spoken too quickly.  The caution was from one who has been involved with
Ford motors for many years, and was mentioned as a "you might wanna" rather
than a flat direction to change.  Beyond that, your call.

I noticed your post to Garth on the nylocs in the oil pan...are you saying
this is a bad idea for holding the windage tray?  I just got one (as did
about 20 other Pantera owners) of the identical pans and picked it up at
Armando's shop...he and his wife run the shop and would be open to any
questions.
