[DeTomaso] Predicted mileage at 200 MPH

ORRs are not steady state.

With around 350 HP, I get less than 5 MPG on a road track with the repeated
30-130 MPH acceleration and braking.

Didn't Junior Wilson run out of gas during one Open Road Race attempt?

Something like 3 MPG? Jack DeRyke???

Out of curiosity, I tried to estimate how much gas would be burned to travel
100 miles at 200 MPH assuming 500 HP is required to maintain speed. I came
up with:

  1 HP = 42.21 Btu/min
  so, 500 HP = 21,205 Btu/min at 100% efficiency energy conversion
  but assuming 33% efficiency, 500 HP requires 63,615 Btu/min

1 gallon of gasoline contain 115,000 to 125,000 BTUs

at 120,000 Btu/gal, 500 HP will burn about 1/2 gallons per minute
so, at 200 MPH, it takes 30 minutes to travel 100 miles, and 15 gallons of
gasoline.

It seems reasonable, about 6 MPG. I've never done this kind of
calculation before, does anyone see an obvious error?
