<font color='black' size='2' face='arial'>Ju<font size="2">lian, some of those early turbo setups used a 'priority' valve between the turbo(s) and the carb. The engine ran NA until boost pressure closed the valve and it became a suck-through system under pressure. Lance Nist had a couple of different kinds of this setup for Panteras in the '80s. Wonder how long this rebuild has been in the works- says Roy Butfoy rebuilt the ZF and he passed away in 2000. </font><font size="2"> Whatever, nice plumbing job and an attractive rework! Wonder how it runs?</font>

Julian,

</div>
<div>I ran a ’79 Bronco for years that had a ‘pull through’ turbo setup on it.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>It worked fine. To the point that a 396 Camaro was stunned when a 4WD beat him in a street race.</div>

<div>Trouble is, 20 lbs of boost was hard on head gaskets. There was no waste gate in those days.</div>
<div>I limited boost with the exhaust system.</div>
<div>I ended up selling it back in ‘96, but wish I still had it.</div>

<div dir="ltr">This great looking Pantera is on Ebay right now and I'm not much familiar with forced induction, but this is the first time I have seen a turbo setup with a carb on top and not pressurizing through the carb via a hat or enclosed carb?
<div><br>
</div>
<div>I have seen screw type superchargers with carb(s) atop and can see how they would maintain a suction seal through the carb, but I'm struggling to see how the turbo would do so?</div>
