This is why the Navy did (still does?) run red lights at night, to
prevent night blindness. Also why the Air Force used to use it.
Even in my communications facility we had both black-out lights and
red night-time lights. Red allows you to see without making you
night blind. Something I learned both from my Dad (who was a pilot
for 20 years in the Air Force) but also from other training I had.
It was brilliant because it -worked-. Nowdays it seems like
everybody has to have everything lit up like it was daylight.
Pisses me off... don't get me started.
This is what bugs me the -most- in all my other daily driver
cars.

In my 1971 Mach I, the high beam indicator is RED, in fact,
it's a very neatly crafted Mustang running horse, that's
red, in the speedometer dial. It's noticeable and sexy, and
certainly not blinding.

In the other cars, it's this God-awful bright cold Blue
light that literally blinds me anytime I switch on the high
beams. I can have the dash lights dialed down nicely to get
a good view of the country roads around here and when I
switch on the high beams... BAM... can't see damn thing
again from the stickin' indicator glaring at me.

Most times I don't even drive with the high beams anymore,
even on deserted back country roads because I hate that it's
not RED.

This makes me wonder if I can get a set of RED LED dash
lights for the Pantera.

Whoever designed it so the dash lights had to be brighter
than the surface of the sun should be shot!
switches on the instrument lights because bright
interior lights is NOT what you want on a dark
road. Driving in the city, with bright lights all

Red light doesn't affect your night vision and that is
