What you describe is pretty clearly an ignition problem, unrelated to the carb.....<br>

FWIW when my MSD box conked out, it did so because it wasn't mounted properly (it was bolted directly to the firewall without using the included rubber isolators, and no I didn't install it!). The vibrations killed it. It worked fine for a few years, then it started acting like yours, and then it quit completely. Replacing the box (and installing it properly) fixed it.<br>
