Chris,<br>
<br>
I have the same problem with a set of seats in my '71. When I
purchased it a year ago the owner was really proud of the fact it
had Recaros. Unfortunately they were from the '80s and were
tattered as well as had a broken base. Have even looked for seat
covers for a short term solution. Missed the last few sets of the
Corvette seats and would rather rebuild an engine than spend $3000
on a new seat. <br>
Have checked Ebay on and off for a year.. Most of the Ebay seats
are new and Chinese. I did find a set covered in "genuine PVC
naugahide leather". Most of the aftermarket seats that I find are
36" back length and 34" would be a stretch in my car. I don't
remember the year model of the Corvette seats but that and Fiero
seats have been mentioned a lot here.<br>
<br>
Still looking,<br>

<div dir="ltr">Good idea. I'm all legs, and basically have no
torso--so height isn't a big deal for me. Unfortunately, my
wife is build the opposite, and her head touches the roof
whenever she rides in the Pantera. She always grumbles about
getting in and out of the car, too, but that's more about the
size of the car, and not so much about the seats!

<p dir="ltr">Why don't you look at cars in salvage yards
that have Recaros ( or other nice seats like SLK chairs
are really nice) . You might be surprised at the lowish
prices for all that you can get ( style, leather, power,
heaters) Be aware of the max size that you can install
and still get yourself in them comfortably. I have a
long torso and have a standard flat floor, so I went
with custom covered C4 sears with the springs removed on
my side.</p>

<div dir="ltr">Hi Everyone,
<div><br>
</div>
<div>In the next 6 months or so I'm hoping to make
some changes in Pandora's seats, and I need some
sage advice.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>The seats in her now are Recaros--the kind
that have the lower section that can pull in or
out for more leg support. They are really
comfortable, and the only improvement as far as
how they feel would be a little more lumbar
support.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Nevertheless, the cloth on the seats is
starting to look worn. I was planning on having
them recovered in leather, with suede down the
middle, and when I checked the pricing for that
to be done (a year or two ago) I think it was
going to cost between $1200 and $1400. The
seats are probably from the '80's, and I'm
afraid getting them recovered might be
tantamount to putting new wine in old wineskins,
as it were. For all I know, the foam might be
just about to collapse, or the frame just about
to wear out.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>So, here's the question: Should I pay the
money to get the current seats recovered, or
sell them and use the money towards new Recaros.
I looked at some Recaros on-line, and the
prices astounded me--over $3,000 each! Still,
in trying to save money, I don't want to throw
good money after bad.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Opinions will be appreciated.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Thanks!</div>
