What I think has happened is that somebody doesn't know what kind of Pantera he has (according to Ford's highly arbitrary model year splits). That is, he has a 1974 Pantera that was registered as a 1973 model, but his Marti report calls it a 1974, and he failed to notice, and gave it to Michael claiming that it was for a 1973 model year car (in error). So in Michael's summary, he actually has one 1971, one 1972, and TWO different 1974 reports, one for an L-model and one for a GTS. When you view the numbers that way, everything adds up nicely, and it also indicates we're missing the 1973 numbers, which were certainly more than 1,112 produced. I've seen them elsewhere, and it's more like 2000-something.<BR>

What will be interesting is to compare different Marti reports from the same years, and see if the total numbers for that year are the same from one report to the next. I suspect they won't be different.<BR>

Also, a number of GTS Panteras were titled as 1973 cars, probably because they were sold in 1973, but technically it appears they were all 1974 models because all of them have VINS that start after Ford's arbitrary cutoff point for the 1973 model year, and the Marti report confirms that.<BR>
