Sounds like a classic Duraspark problem, although normally it gets
well for awhile after a short time. If you don't have a Duraspark
ignition forget that. It sounds electronic or electrical. At
one time I created that problem accidentally by clamping the
points wire between the distributor cap and the base.<br>

<div>When I first start my car and drive it runs great for 50 or
60 miles. At 3000 RPM cruising the air/fuel ratio is high 13 to
14. The vacuum is 18 to 20 and the car runs smooth.</div>

<div>After about 60 miles the air/fuel ratio drops to low 10, the
vacuum drops to 13 and the car vibrates and runs rough. It
appears to be missing and I suspect the ignition system.</div>

What is confusing is that if I stop for lunch or even after one
night the problem continues. But if the car sits for a week or
so it goes back to running fine . The problem never occurs
unless I drive 60 miles or so.</div>
