[DeTomaso] NPC, How to Deal With Cloudy Paint

Exactly,

Virtually all Japanese cars from the 1990s through the 2010s had great paint and TERRIBLE clear coat. If the car isn’t buried in wax, and stored indoors, with the passage of time it will fail.

Here is the nose of Lori’s 2001 Sienna minivan (with 354,000 miles, runs like a top still!)

The front couple of inches of the hood still have clear coat, but the majority of the hood and the roof are now very dull.

I know some other club members who found this intolerable and had their hoods sanded, then clear coated once more.

We can’t be bothered….

Mike
