[DeTomaso] engine bay work platform

I enlarged the picture.  I read the comments below and found "work platform."  I'm not a mechanic, so I'm trying to figure this out. Someone please explain.

Julian,

Johnny came to my house for a couple of weeks. Together we made 40 of them. After two weeks of nonstop work we sold them all and the profit didn’t even pay for his plane ticket. But we had a lot of fun!

I still have the jig he created to make them, so in theory more could be made….
