EXCEPT;
The new SKF bearing does not fit the DeTomaso hub!
BCA discontinued manufacturing our throw out bearings, Atnea bearings is liquiating their manufacturing facilities, and the new SKF bearings are .032" undersized on their ID to fit our hubs.
I'm working on getting an ID Grinder set up to re-bore the ID Fit of all these Throw out bearings we purchased thinking that they would be the same as the BCA's, but disappointingly, NOT YET
The McLeod Adjustable was originally designed to work not only as a replacement for our DeTomaso Hub and Throw-out bearing, but mainly to allow the fitment of their twin disc RST soft but Hi Horsepower clutch system. The McLeod hub also became the system of choice for the GT-40 application due to its cost and versatility.
We can't get enough of the McLeod Hub and throw-out bearing systems fast enough. I just ordered 10 more and received just 1, backordered 9, but we are not completely out of them yet, but if we don't get more soon we will be.

Yes, these adjustable bearing carriers (for that is really what we are talking about) are a solution to somebody else’s problem.
When people started building GT40 replicas using ZF gearboxes they were using many different types of engines and bellhousings and clutches, so a means needed to be developed to adapt anything to anything else. That is what prompted McLeod to create a throwing bearing carrier with shims, a terrific idea.
But if somebody is using a Pantera clutch with a Pantera engine with a Pantera gearbox there is zero need for any adjustability. The parts you already have are already engineered to work together perfectly. All you need to do is install a new SKF throwout bearing (part number N1181) on your stock, fixed-length, correct throw out bearing carrier, bolt it all together, make the final minor adjustment, and away you go.
