[DeTomaso] Hall Corvette rotor question

Team,

I put the Hall SStoppers on my car 20+ years ago....

The biggest challenge (and there are several)... Is dismantling the rear uprights to install the new studs.

If you are picking a used kit and looking at a pile of parts, make sure you find the new studs. They are different front and back.

John,

Thanks, very helpful, not long ago I sold a big brake kit for a 1984-87 C4 Corvette, it consisted of Brembo calipers with Stillen rotors, so I assume that aftermarket and upgraded rotors are still available for the C4, for those that want an upgraded Pantera brake upgrade kit.....

There are companies like Hells Gate Hot Rods selling jigs for drilling different lug spacing on rotors, I had one specific to the 280Z when I upgraded the rears to Mustang.

Julian

I am in the middle of adding the Hall Corvette brake package to a Pantera that I am currently restoring. I spoke with the company, Baer, from whom Gary Hall ordered his brake rotors. They were willing to research their archives for me and disclosed old Hall purchase orders. They shared the rotor dimensions with me.

They are the front rotors on a 1984-87 Corvette. The lug spacing is incorrect for a Ford and you will need to find a machine shop to drill the
5 on 4.5" stud pattern. That is why the Hall rotors have 10 stud holes. He generally bought them in batches of 10 and then, I hypothesize, took them to his machine shop.

Last week, I purchased the last four that Oreilly's had in inventory in the US. I have no idea if they are inventorying more or not and I'm pretty confident they are available elsewhere. However, who really knows.

Both the front and rear rotors slide over the studs on the outside of the hub. Longer studs may be best and careful with offset if purchasing new wheels.

Fortunately, I have another Pantera with the Corvette brake set up that I was able to use as my template as to how the caliper spacers attach, etc.

Hope this was helpful
