A friend of mine did the train scene and told me that that was a second Pantera that was just a light shell Pantera body shell because they could not do the scene with the weight of a complete Pantera, so there were 2 Pantera's used in the movie.

The current appearance is the result of Herculean work. The film
company took a decent Pantera and really thrashed it. Although I don't
see pics in the registry, somewhere I saw photos of the car after the
filming and it seemed almost beyond salvation. Clearly somebody felt
otherwise (or, they had more than one car and this isn't the one I
saw).


Film credits don't appear to impart any extra value to a Pantera
because their presence is always so incidental. It would be interesting
to see what would happen if a Pantera got real star treatment (like
James Bond did with the Aston Martin DB5).
