The Si is of quite a different construction to early Panteras, the inner fender pieces are bolted on aluminum splash shields, more evident in this photo where they remain unpainted.

If you bring up the gamma in the photo it is indeed connected with a rubber isolator.
The 302-HO engine has less torque than the earlier cars so it can't be there to prevent engine mount cracking.
And with the engine in flexible side mounts this adds no stiffness to the chassis whatsoever - I'm at a loss to see any benefit at all.
