[DeTomaso] Belt question

Clarification.  It was my steel cooling tube that I wrapped the rubber around as it was contacting the corner of the alternator.  - Mike T.

Hi folks, I need some opinions (and I'm sure I will get many from the forum!) After a lot of searching I found a 23 inch belt that works with my alternator with the flat firewall kit.  The fit is very tight and it took a lot to get it on, but once I did I was able to get the right tightness and it seems to work great.

The only question I have is, one of the cooling hoses is sort of tight between the alternator and the air conditioning pump.  Do either of those units get extremely hot during driving in such a way that it might melt the hose that is sort of squished between them? The hose isn't really deformed, it's just very snug. I'd appreciate it if anyone could reassure me that this is okay, thanks!
