[DeTomaso] Dual points gap setting?

Wow - I haven't thought about points and dwell in forever.

I had an Accel distributor in high school that would allow you to set dwell while the engine was running. You could stick an allen wrench through a rubber grommet to reach the points.

I thought that was really cool. You didn't have to set them, start the engine and check, shut it down, set again, etc. Plus, the allen wrench meant you could very accurately set the points.

But I like MSD/electronic better. No going back for me.

    Your very welcome Sean,
I spent a day, pulling my own distributor and careful setting both point gaps and running them in on a distributor machine. As soon as I started the engine, there formed a relative mountain of electro deposited metal on my new freshly set and aligned points.
    FRUSTRATING
Hence, go by the dwell angle, or better yet put a 1977 style Dura-spark style blue tabbed electronic ignition system that will have enough to also power the Tach without an amplifier.

Thank you Larry, I've never been able to figure this out and I have 2
Dwell/Tachometers in my toolbox after letting go of others! The
textbook instructions never made sense to me. This is the best
explanation I've seen and it makes perfect sense on how to use the
        tool now.
