Joe,

No need for approximations. I just ran to the garage, tape measure in hand. 

The measurement from the inner flat edges of the plastic mounts is exactly 300mm, and the max width of the visor is 400mm.  The pins extend inward from the inner face of the mounts into the visors, but all you really need to know is the distance between the flat edges.

FWIW Wilkinson recently tooled up and had a billion factory visors made. Terrible used ones were selling for hundreds of dollars until recently but his new ones are substantially less now. So no need to try to bodge something.
