Just got of phone with shop.   Manger and I are not on best terms over "their" way of addressing (loose fitting steel ball on steel shaft)
I placed order for the 18MM and shipping to shop.
It has been years since I wrote note on this and I almost believe I measure shaft (before shop took car)

    This is the best upgrade you can do to greatly improve your ZF shifting. 
    FYI, there is a “Metric” rod end assembly available that requires no mods to your long shift shaft. It’s a true plug & play item.  I’ve been using these specifically for years. 
   Gr.-4 car “ 2823 had one in it when it was acquired. Probably from day one.
