[DeTomaso] Cable Shifter - Improvement?

That's where I was going with my first response.
The cable shifter on my Ultima took some time to get correct to shift across the gate into all gears, now that was most likely related to the geometry of the shift components in relation to the G50 Porsche transaxle (side shift conversion), but even when I got that resolved shifting still feels somewhat vague and is definitely different at cold startup vs. once the engine bay is hot and up to temp. I can never figure how cables are better than rod, although the 2005/06 Ford GT seems to do it well in combination with the Ricardo box!

Ditto to what MD said, "Cable shifters are an answer to a question nobody
ever asked."
