Thank you for the help Mike :)

I might have a spare brass gear, I think my father bought one 30 years ago
and it has been sitting in the glove box, I have to check, I think I saw it
there a few months back.

Who makes the brass gears for the windows in case I need to buy new ones ?

   Konrad,
Headlights: your limit switch is stuck. In your case, because the
lights are stuck down it is your UP switch that is stuck. It is falsely
sending a signal that the lights are already up, which cuts lower to
the motor. Get some WD 40 and give birth switches a spritz, disconnect
wires and clean connections, and cycle them with your fingers. (You
wonat be able to get to the DOWN switch until the headlights are
   raised).A
Windows: great job diagnosing the problem. You have power so the switch
is working. The system is jammed because of a broken gear. Might as
   well change them both now.A
Getting the door panels off is easy enough. When reinstalling, make
sure you fully tighten the bottom screws to lift the bottom of the
panel up. Then only gently tighten the top screws. If you make them all
tight you will smash the panel.A
Here is a little bit of guidancea|.
