[DeTomaso] Rebuilding Door Handles - Any tricks to watch out for

Mike,

I don’t know where are you obtained your plastic buckets but the ones offered by P.I.M. include a new shaft that is retained by two C-clips.

The two buckets and most of the parts are not side specific but the gray pot metal piece with the ball is side specific. The difference is the clocking of that piece which is determined by the position of the hole for the roll pin that attaches it to the lock cylinder.

As with any disassembly be sure to take plenty of photographs that clearly show all parts in relation to each other. Do only one side at a time. 

Should your two door locks and trunk lock no longer utilize the same key, I can rekey your locks to function with just one key.
