Subject: [DeTomaso] Intake port spacing
Hi, working on building an 8-stack ITB system using eight 52mm Bosch
Electronic Throttle Bodies (available at very reasonable cost as they are
OEM on Ford 1.6l Ecobust).
Main motivation for this project is to eliminate mechanical play in linkage
system (keeping them balanced) as well as have a possibility of adjusting
progressive throttle movement and improving drivability at very small
throttle opening.
Does someone knows of a good stand-alone system to control 8 ETB's; after
searching the net found lots of options for single an sometimes double TB's
but failed to find an 8 channel system.
Would need an independent system as my XFI2.0 does not have option of ETB
control, so only communication between the two would be TPS output to XFI
and ideally Idle Valve output from XFI to throttle controller to use
controlling the idle.
As well, please if someone could confirm the distance between the intake
ports on Yates C3 heads (center to center); believe this is the same for any
351c heads?
Strangely, looked a lot on the net and could not find any drawing showing
this distance and do not have on hand any intake manifold or intake manifold
gasket to check.
Need this measurements as it could be there is some clearance issues to fit
the throttle bodies next to each other as they are 117mm wide and if I am
correct, intake ports are 111mm center-to-center (please if someone could
confirm).
If this project becomes successful will be happy to share the details.
Thanks, Robert
