Ken,

Are you looking for something to generate a VSS signal while retaining your cable driven Speedometer?

I believe this is what Roland and Thomas are referencing. It generates a HALL effect signal.  It generates a square wave with eight pulses per revolution.

Or are you looking for something to eliminate the cable but retain your OEM speedometer? I believe there are several vendors offering a mechanical solution like this.
