[DeTomaso] What is the perfect enguinebbuild for a Pantera?

The most fun I had in my Pantera was with a stock 351C short block, plus a CompCams 282S, A3 heads, and a small Holley. It dyno-ed at 347 rear wheel HP.
But it couldn't overpower street tires.
My 98 Viper has about 650 HP. I haven't had it on a dyno, so that's a guess. The Gen-5 Viper ACRs have, I believe 617HP. They are very fast. A friend that has one was considering buying an Ariel Atom, and then he saw that the Gen-5 ACR had posted faster track times, I believe at the Nürburgring. He tracks his, with slicks.
So, I would say 650-700HP, with as much torque down low as possible.

The pizza car has 700 hp and 2700lbs.
I like to tell the Porsche Guys at the track
What year is that Porsche r2 d2?
Then I tell them mine is 50 years old.
All in fun
