Les,

Patrick told me all he knows about mechanical issues is putting oil and gas in the car. 

But it sounds from his description like the overflow tank was overfilled so it burped a bit of fluid when hot. They kept adding to the overflow and it kept burping. That made it ‘broken’ in their view. 

He doesn’t know what they did to ‘fix’ it? But after it promptly blew a head gasket they aren’t so worried about the overflow burping anymore!
