Would the conversion to a short-throw shifter alter the distance between the
shifter rod and the transaxle input?
I brought "The Beast" back from the track garage and have been experimenting
with the linkage.
I've changed out the shifter rods at rear so that end appears to be dialed
in.
But as it is now, I need to shorten the front shift rod (from the shift
linkage to the "middle" U joint.
I'm using 9/16th wooden dowel mock-ups of the shift rod to nail the length.
It looks like I need to shorten it by one inch. (which makes sense since
that's about how far forward we shifted the engine).
But prior to cutting and shortening the steel shift rod I'm wondering if a
short-throw shifter would eliminate that inch?
