[DeTomaso] Update from Portland Race

All,

Quick update.

The Portland race went great for the Winston Cup car with me driving (won
all the races), but the Pantera (with Tony driving) clutch blew up during
the late Saturday race.  I happened to be right behind Tony going into the
chicane at the end of the front straight when I saw the Pantera suddenly
lock up both rear wheels and then go spinning through the chicane.

Thankfully, it had not happened a few seconds earlier -- at top speed at
end of the straight.  Before that, the car ran beautifully and had a
non-stop stream of admirers.  We were very proud to be there with the
Pantera.

It appears that the rivets let go on the clutch and simply blew up.  The
current plan is to upgrade to a full race clutch package.  Our next Pantera
event will be a weekday test at INDE before heading down to Daytona at the
end of October for the HSR Classic 24-hour race.  Our current plans are to
run the Pantera in the HSR sprint races which end before the start of the
24-hour race Saturday at 1 pm.  We will be running the Panoz in the 24-hour
race. So it will be a busy 4-5 days of racing two cars down there, and we
will likely recruit another driver to share the duties with us.

Also, thanks to the several POCA members that stopped by.  It was great to
meet the new guy and see some of the old faces again -- and Steve, I hope
to see your Pantera next time!

I have to retrieve the cameras from the race trailer -- I have video from
the Pantera at both Portland and Road America, and also from the NASCAR at
the Pantera from Portland.  I will try to get something together in a few
weeks.
