As of this week, we have to use the area code for local calls, with no warning.
Yesterday, trying to call Walbro fuel pumps, first get a message that I don't need the "1" before the area code, then try without the "1" and get a message that the "1" is required.  Called our phone service provider and they tried and confirmed it is not my phone.  

Crazy world, a real problem for a lot of businesses.
