Good information, thanks. Fortunately, the drive is only about 3 hours, so I won't have to worry about staying at hotels.
I think my friend's trailer has inside fender wells.
Sincerely,
Chris

FWIW- A significant point with trailers is whether the fender enclosures surrounding trailer wheels are external or internal. If they are internal, you just lost 18" or so on each side, often placed where the doors impact them. So trailer design plays a part. Some unfortunate owners have built internal ramps inside the trailer so low cars are elevated above inside fenders and car doors then function. But that changes the balance of the trailer and can make it top-heavy & hard to tie down the cargo... Open trailers do not protect the car and people have had pilferage and entire rigs stolen from motels, even if the tow ball is padlocked. One guy found evidence of a cutting torch being used on his locks. Covered trailers are less tempting and also allow safe loading of mid-engined cars backward for more tongue weight. In 42 years of Pantera ownership, I've NEVER needed a trailer although I have for other cars, fishing boats & motorcycles.

Chris, most or at least many enclosed car trailers have a side door that allows you to fully open the car door to get out and also makes tying down the car easier. You might want to look at hiring a transport company unless you already know someone who can help you.

I have a question for the group: If I were to transport my Pantera (which is in the shop 3 hours away right now so I can't measure it) in an enclosed trailer, what is the width necessary inside the trailer so I could get out of the car once it's in the trailer? I'm 6' 1" and 215, so that would have to be a consideration...😅
Thanks for your help!
Sincerely,
Chris
