[DeTomaso] Ford is Selling the Predator V8 as a Crate Engine

I just measured the engine bay in my Pantera, then measured the width of
the GT500 engine. There is enough room width wise to fit the GT500
Predator engine into the Pantera, but it looks like the length of that
engine will be a problem. The throttle body air inlet line would have to
be modified or perhaps even reversed. The new GT500 only comes with a
seven speed DCT automatic transmission, so a flywheel and adapter for
the ZF would have to be fabricated.

I won't even try to address the electronics that this engine needs to
work, but I am sure that someone can figure that out.

The Predator engine is rated at 760 horse power with 625 foot pounds of
torque. Those are advertised numbers and I have heard of unmodified cars
putting 690 to 700 horse power to the rear wheels. That is quite a bit
of power, but the ZF might be able to handle that unless someone decides
to slap on a set of wrinkle wall slicks and go drag racing.

Just my opinion here but with enough know how, a cutting torch and lots
of work this engine swap might be possible!
