I don't get that concept, The ID has typically a polished center sleeve bushing with far less surface friction travel. Ever touch the outer retainer when one of Dennis's fixed ID Bushings comes off the track? It will burn you but good if your not aware of all that outer surface friction heat.

       Mike,
       Dennis Quella sells graphite impregnated polyurethane bushings.
       Apparently,
       they are squeak-proof and a bit harder than regular polyurethane.
