[DeTomaso] Torque / Tightening front wheel bearings

Ah, found it in the service bulletins:
Step 1: With the wheel rotating, torque the adjusting nut to 17-25 Ft Lbs (204-300 In Lbs)
Step 2: Back adjusting nut off 1/2 turn
Step 3: Tighten adjusting nut to 10-15 In Lbs
Step 4: Install lock and cotter pin

For future reference.  There was more to it than I realized or had been told before.

There is a procedure and torque spec in the shop manual. It’s very low. After tightening and loosening, I believe (from memory) it’s 10-25 INCH-pounds?

Most people just do it by feel. 

The book will tell you (I don’t have one with me at the moment….)
