Charles,
Since you will not need the stock push rods any more,use one of them as a length checker.
Measure the difference in height between the old and new lifters.Measure from the base where it rides on the cam,to the top of the plunger where the push rod rests in the lifter,not the top of the lifter body.cut out around 1/4 inch more of the measured length from the old pushrod. Drill and tap the old push rod halves and use a piece of threaded rod or a bolt with the head cut off if threaded rod is not available.
You now have a push rod length checker : )
