So POCA canceled the 2021 Fun Rally and paid the Ak-Chin $10k of POCA members money in cancellation fees (rather than the no cost option to push the date to 2022) which after input from potential attendees that the Ak-Chin was too far from shopping for wives, the track etc. and now not 3 months later turn around and contract with the Ak-Chin for 2022?

And I thought a lesson had been learned with the $50k loss on the last Las Vegas Fun Rally......

Nov. 2020 POCA BOD Minutes;
2021 Fun Rally. Discussed options for the April, 2021 Rally, concerns with the virus still
being prevalent and posing a health risk to the members. Currently the hotel can’t
provide food services due to the virus, it is unknown if it will improve enough by April to
allow them to provide food. The hotel agreed to reduce the cancelation fee from
$28,000 to $10,000 if we cancel before the end of the year, or we can move the Rally to
April 2022 with no fee. The racetrack will allow us to move the track event to another
date with no penalty. The Chapter Presidents will poll their Chapters on preferences for
moving the 2021 Rally to 2022 at the same hotel or cancelling it out right.

December BOD Minutes;
2021 Fun Rally. With input from the chapter presidents the BOD made the difficult
decision to cancel the 2021 Rally and pay the Ak-Chin hotel $10,000 to terminate our
contract with them. We will look for another hotel to host the 2022 Rally in Phoenix.
