Mike Becker is correct. I have a shipping bill from DeTomaso sPa in Italy with two dozen 1972 Panteras listed (including ours), with the respective engine numbers for each car. Hard to do if they were installed over here....

Those of you who attended the 2014 Fun Rally in San Diego may remember the guest speaker - Tim Foraker - who was intimately involved in the supply chain of engines for Detomaso in the formative years. He never mentioned anything about not shipping the engines to Italy! Tim gave an outstanding narrative of the whole saga. If you've got an extra half hour on your hands, you should check it out. He titled his presentation "The Birthing Pains of Pantera". You can find it online, but be warned, the audio quality isn't too good (someone recorded it with a handheld camcorder).
