Some of you may remember my infamous DA moment about 14 years ago (I'm
pretty sure Mr. Drew does) when I got scammed for $1,700 on a bogus Second
Chance Offer on Ebay for a rebuilt Cleveland.  I won't recount the gory
details but needless to say it was the DOH!! Heard 'round the world.

 

The one thing I'll relate is that it involved a payment sent through Western
Union.  Well, about three years ago, I was included on a class action
mailing from a law firm representing potential claimants in The United
States v Western Union.  Seems I wasn't the only one who got scammed via
payments through WU, and they lost a lawsuit with the government to the tune
of $586M.  I joined the class and had quite forgotten about it until today
when a check arrived in the mail for $1,695!!  Homer Simpson, eat your heart
out!
