I want to share a recent experience I had with Hagerty Insurance.

Just before the COVID work-from-home started, I was pulled over by a police officer.  The reason given for the stop was the license plate frame that was barely obstructing the license plate, which is apparently dangerous enough to warrant a stop.

The real reason, however, was my driver’s license had been suspended for about a year.  I received 2 tickets, and I had to Uber it home.  I discovered that exactly 3 months and 1 day after I bought my Viper, my license had been suspended.  The FL DMV didn’t send me anything.  How was I supposed to know?

Since it was apparently tied to the Viper, I submitted my USAA proof of insurance, and they unsuspended my license.  That was 2 months ago.  Last week, they suspended it again, and they demanded that I send them my driver’s license and all 5 license plates.  They had called USAA who naturally, denied that I had coverage for the Pantera.  The Pantera is insured by Hagerty.  So, I called USAA and Hagerty.  They were both very good, but Hagerty had that personal touch.  They even sent me a PDF from the DMV confirming that I can, once again, drive legally in the state.

Two thumbs up for Hagerty.
