I didn't install a box- the battery sits on an added angle-iron crossmember. No issues in 16 yrs rigged this way, and we do not baby the car!

Subject: [DeTomaso] Drop Battery Box - cooling air flow and battery 'heating'

Considering installing a dropped battery box during the work that's
about to start on 6328.  Are there any issues with blockage of cooling
air flow through that area below the front trunk or over-heating of the
battery from the radiated air or hot asphalt air around the box during
  warm weather driving?

  Thanks, Mike Thomas
