[DeTomaso] CV half shaft conversion - opinions

Are the CV shafts the same for either installation application? i.e.; If I got a set to run now with the adapter style flanges, could I later on install the CV specific ZF flanges and reuse the same shafts and other appurtenances?
Are there CV specific flanges for the wheel end also?
