 I don't think I ever used that term to describe the internals of a hydraulic passage.   Oh well, too late now.

Over time the rubber in brake hoses swells until there is very little or no lumen, so fluid has a hard time getting to or coming back out of the caliper.  The ones on my Dino had no visible lumen when cut for evaluation.
